WYSIWYG lighting software. This hit me out of nowhere at work and I have to get it down before I forget it.

Use it to previs. your focus then bring the virtual electric to an accessible heighth to get a rough floor focus pattern that can be then done with the real electric. Coud save time on a ladder or bosun's swing.

I use Visual lighting software at work to lay out lighting for interior/exterior illumination for buildings. You can import autocad/microstation floorplans and render the lighting plan in 3D. what's nifty is you can download luminaire info for virtually any fixture from the innarnet! type in the footcandle values you want and Visual will evenly plop fixtures in a planar region.

oh yeah WYSIWYG is a killer song/jam.
